I asked for this landscape plan as part of my research on city greenway possibilities and thought you might find it useful for your work on the urban forest.

Brian, Lori, and Chris:

These documents might be useful in relation to a potential "First Creek Park to Caswell Park" Greenway link we've all been talking about.

Also, it might be useful in relation to exploring a potential Greenway from the Sixth Avenue Murals at First Creek over to Knoxville Zoo / Chilhowee Park that I've forwarded some sketches on.

I'm planning to ask TDOT / Kristin Qualls mentioned here about the invasive plants and trash filling up their drainage system as a follow up to this e-mail.

I'm hoping TDOT will see the problem and revisit their drainage ditch / maintenance plan on that, since it seems to be failing.

I'm hoping they'll see that if they had a greenway path along the sound barrier within the ROW, it might be easier to get maintenance equipment in and out of there to clear the swale.

There is a document online that appears to be a deliverable for the TDOT SmartFix40 project.

 

It's called "I-40/Hall of Fame Drive Project Two Landscape Plan, dated January 2008.

 

It looks like it has Wilbur Smith Associates logo and another small, indistinguisable logo, perhaps from Penland Studio, where I found the reduced filesize version of the plan:

I have reviewed the SmartFix40 site as archived at https://web.archive.org/web/20081230232210/http://www.tdot.state.tn.us/smartfix/jwp/

 

I was unable to locate any documents pertaining to "Landscape Plan" on the archived site.

 

I am hoping that TDOT has retained copies of the Landscape Plan and is able to forward them to me.
